News: Upcoming Event konaktiva 2026
We will be participating in konaktiva 2026, taking place from May 5 to May 7, 2026. At our booth, we will exhibit our articulated robots „HELENE“ and „ARCTOS“ . We welcome visitors to learn more about our projects, discuss potential collaborations and share your interest. We look forward to meeting you at the event.
Our Mission
DARE ROBOTICS is a student group at TU Darmstadt, with a mission to introduce practical robotics to aspiring engineers. While many open-source projects imitate impressive industrial robots, they are usually limited to mere replication. In doing so, the crucial understanding of system integration is lost. Our approach: “Learning by Building.” We are developing an articulated robot arm along with a holistic learning concept. Our goal is not merely to provide hardware and software, but to answer fundamental engineering questions: Why is a specific gearbox chosen? How does the control board communicate efficiently with the components? What does a robust software implementation look like?
Our Vision
Our long-term vision is to create an integrated learning environment for schools, universities and industry that combines theory and practice. Our goal is to create system that breaks down complex engineering concepts into understandable, sequential learning steps. This will transform building your own robot into a high-quality educational experience, enabling you actually understand how the individual systems interact by the end.
